Scottish imprint Herb Recordings have announced that Engine7's debut full-length, "Me, But Perfect" will hit the shelves on June 30th. One of Glasgows best kept secrets, Engine7 is the brainchild of Alan McNeill, a stalwart of the netlabel scene with web releases on 12rec, Cold Room and LegoEgo.
Billed as a "triumph for organic instrumentation and digital innovation", McNeill was recently interviewed by Angry Ape where he discussed the unique concept behind his new album. "It's the soundtrack to a day in the life of my one year old daughter, all the events and mood swings from waking up in the morning to going to sleep at night" McNeill told us. "I wrote a song for each event, reflecting her mood" he continued.
With a self-styled "crushed cinematic electronic" sound, Engine7 has been compared to everyone from Sigur Ros, My Bloody Valentine, Mum and Tangerine Dream. "Me, But Perfect" will be available on June 30th in both digital and CD formats.
