Demi Moore underwent a bloodsucking leech treatment in a bid to stay young and healthy.
Speaking to David Letterman on 'The Late Show' on Monday, 45-year-old Moore admitted constantly searching for "the cutting edge in health and healing" and had the therapy during a stay at an Austrian spa last week.
Talking about the leeches, she said: "These aren't swamp leeches; they were highly trained medical leeches. High level bloodsuckers."
Explaining the purpose of the therapy, she added: "It detoxifies your blood. And they have a little [blood thinning] enzyme that when they are biting down on you is released in your blood."
Describing the leech treatment, the actress said: "It crawls into your belly button and it bites down and then you relax and you watch it swell up and get fatter and fatter. And when its super drunk on your blood, it just rolls over like its drunk in a bar."
When asked how she felt after the experience, she replied: "At first you feel worse and then you feel better. [Now] I'm feeling very detoxified."
Moore is married to Ashton Kutcher, who is fifteen years her junior.
